Classix in Art :: Masterclasses 2025

Intro

The Creative Industries Association, organizer of the Classix Festival, with the support of the 2025 edition’s main partner, BRD Groupe Societe Generale, launches the Classix in Art 2025 program and scholarships for masterclasses dedicated to young musicians from Romania.

37 sessions for 9 different specializations will be led by 9 professional musicians from Denmark, France, Finland, Norway, Italy, Bulgaria, and the United Kingdom. These sessions aim to enhance the skills of high school students and university students enrolled in music programs in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

Eligibility Criteria

Participation in these sessions is free, based on registration, within the available spots, and subject to evaluation of the attached videos by the lead masterclass teacher or a field specialist.

The sessions will be conducted in English at Casa Balș (29 Cuza Vodă Street, Iași) and the George Enescu National University of Arts (7-9 Costache Negruzzi Street, Iași).

Active participants selected will benefit from free attendance at the masterclass as well as tickets to the concerts performed by the masterclass artists as part of the Classix Festival. Costs associated with transportation, accommodation, and meals are the responsibility of the participant.

Eligible candidates include high school students (grades IX-XII), university students enrolled in public/private vocational education institutions in Romania or the Republic of Moldova, and graduates of such institutions who completed their studies no earlier than the 2023/2024 academic year.

For minors participating in masterclasses who reside outside Iași, they must be accompanied by a legal representative or an adult.

Passive participation in the masterclasses will be free and open to the public, within the available seats, for each session.

Masterclass Registration

If all spots for a professor are filled, the professor will select the active participants with whom they will work. Each individual session with the coordinating professor will last approximately 45 minutes.

Active participants must arrange their own accompanist pianist if needed.

The recorded piece for the selection process can be freely chosen but must not be older than 2 years and no longer than 10 minutes.

Notes

1. Individuals accepted into the masterclasses give their consent for the capture and use of photographic images and audio and video recordings during the sessions for the purpose of promoting festival activities.
