Hyunim Yoon

Flautist Hyunim Yoon is a graduate of Seoul National University. During her studies, she travelled to Geneva and studied with one of the most virtuosic flute players, Maxence Larrieu. After she graduated from Conservatoire Musique de Geneve with her Perfectionnement and Virtuosite diplom, she went to Germany and studied under Jean-Claude Gerard at Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart.
In 2001, as the first Korean laureate at the 47th Maria Canals International Flute Competition in Spain, her talent was internationally recognized.
She had numerous recitals and performed with Maxence Larrieu, Petri Alanko, Davide Formisano, Paolo Taballione, David Gillham and Ohad Ben-Ari.
She also had concerts with Korean Chamber Ensemble, Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Plovdiv State Orchestra, Pleven State Orchestra, Filarmonica Transilvania din Cluj-Napoca, MAV Symphony Orchestra in Hungary, Janacek Orchestra in Czech Republic, Kharkov Philharmonic Orchestra in Ukraine, Czestokova Philharmonic in Poland, New Zurich Orchestra in Bern and Izmir State Philharmonic in Turkey.
Her active concert performances are not only in Korea but also in South-East Asia, and around Europe as a virtuoso flautist.
Currently she is a professor at the University of Suwon.
