Pianist Ioana Chiriac, born in 2001, is currently a fourth-year student at the George Enescu National University of Arts in Iași, in the piano class of lect.univ.dr. Ioana Stănescu, under whose guidance she has been since 2008, with her first lessons.
Although she began studying piano at the age of 7, she quickly distinguished herself as a pianist gifted with exceptional musical intelligence and touching sensitivity, winning major trophies or special prizes at numerous national and international competitions, such as: Les Réncontres Internationales des Jeunes Pianistes (Brussels), the Simone Delbert Février International Piano Competition (Nice), the Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition (Bacău), the Carl Czerny International Piano Competition, the Romantic Miniature Competition (Galați), the Millennium Piano Competition, the Ada Ulubeanu Competition, the Pro Piano Competition (Bucharest).
From the age of 9, Ioana Chiriac established herself as a soloist in numerous recitals held in Romania and abroad, at the Moldova State Philharmonic in Iași, the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, the Mihail Jora Philharmonic in Bacău, the Music Salon in Abano Terme, Santa Caterina Cathedral in Padova, Accademia di Romania in Rome, Alessandro Scarlatti Conservatory of Music in Palermo, the Multicultural Center of the Transylvania University of Brașov, the George Enescu National University of Arts, the Palace of Culture in Iași, Cantacuzino Museum, George Enescu Festival Square in Bucharest, Bârlad, Brașov, Piatra-Neamț, Galați, Onești, Bălți, Orhei, the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic in Chișinău (Rep. Moldova), or the Romanian Embassy in Paris.
In 2014, at the age of 12, Ioana Chiriac made her debut with the orchestra of the Moldova State Philharmonic in Iași, under the baton of conductor Vlad Conta, performing W. A. Mozart’s Concerto No. 23 in A major. Future concerts will find her alongside renowned conductors such as Christopher Petrie (England), Giuliano Mazzocante (Italy), Liviu Condriuc or Cristian Sandu, as a soloist with the orchestras of the Mihail Jora Philharmonic in Bacău, the George Enescu Philharmonic in Botoșani, or the Oltenia Philharmonic in Craiova.
