Irina Nanushi

Irina Nanushi is a well-known and appreciated name among classical music enthusiasts. In her concerts, as well as in her violin recitals and chamber performances, she emerges as a distinct interpretative personality. She consistently demonstrates a superior level of violin playing, a personal way of highlighting character and expression, sonorous brilliance, passion, clarity, and balance. These are qualities that Irina Nanushi exhibits in her stage appearances and on the concert podium.

Her extensive repertoire includes musical works from the main stylistic periods – Baroque, Classical, Romantic – as well as from the current era. Particularly noteworthy are some contemporary works, presented in their first performances.

She graduated from the National University of Music in Bucharest and refined her skills under the guidance of Professor Daniel Podlovski, the soloist of the “Moldova” State Philharmonic in Iași, and Professor Petre Lefterescu, a soloist and specialist in early music.

In 2007, she obtained her Master’s degree with a dissertation on the complete sonatas for piano and violin by composer Ludwig van Beethoven, and in 2013, she earned her Doctorate from the same university with a thesis on the particularities, tendencies, and stylistic features in the violin creations of Albanian composers (after 1900).

Between 2009-2010, she was part of the Albanian government’s “Brain Gain” program and taught the semantics of interpretation at the Faculty of Music of the University of Arts in Tirana. She attended master classes with professors Ștefan Ruha, Ștefan Gheorghiu, Florin Croitoru, Klaidi Sahatci.

She has consistently collaborated with the Romanian Cultural Institute, participating in numerous projects in London, Vienna, Brussels, Liege, Balchik, Skopje, Bitola, Tirana, Korca.

Currently, violinist Irina Nanushi is the coordinator and organizer of the musical season “Concerts of the Suțu Palace”, in partnership with the Bucharest City Museum. She is the founder of the early music ensemble ABARIS, performing monthly with the ensemble’s members in the aforementioned musical season.

She is a member of the Royal Camerata and collaborator of the “George Enescu” Philharmonic, participating in numerous important concerts in Austria, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, the United Kingdom, North Macedonia, Albania, and others.
