
Nicoleta Maier

Originally from Năsăud, Nicoleta Maier is a graduate of the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at the “Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca, and has also been a recipient of the “Lucia Stănescu” study scholarship. Later, she continued her improvement at the “Odeio Athenaeum Maria Callas” Conservatory in Athens, in the class of the legendary soprano Marina Krilovici. Her debut was on the stage of the Cluj opera from the first year of her master’s degree in the role of Nedda in R. Leoncavallo’s opera Pagliacci, followed by roles such as Mimi in La Boheme, Liu in Turandot, Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow, etc.
Her artistic repertoire is enriched with awards, being the winner of the First Prize at the “Sabin Drăgoi” Competition; the “Union of Composers and Musicologists” Award in Romania at the Romanian Lied Festival; the Melos Prize at the “Vox Artis” International Singing Competition, the Jury Prize at the “Hariclea Darclee” Festival, etc.
She has collaborated with professional institutions from both domestic and abroad: Philharmonics in Sibiu, Cluj, Bacău, Botoșani, Iași, the Opera in Nurnberg, Chișinău, Goldoni Theater- Livorno, Bucharest Opera, Cluj Opera, Hungarian Opera, Nae Leonard Theater- Galați, Romanian Athenaeum, etc.
Currently, she is a soprano at the National Opera in Iași, a Ph.D. candidate at the “George Enescu” University of Arts in Iași, and a university assistant at the Gh. Dima Faculty of Music, Piatra Neamț branch.
