TRIO BOhÉMO

MATOUŠ PĚRUŠKA, VIOLIN   |     KRISTINA VOCETKOVÁ, CELLO   |    JAN VOJTEK, PIANO

Trio Bohémo, originally from the Czech Republic, has gained notoriety at a fast rate since its founding in 2019. Formed by violinist Matouš Pěruška, cellist Kristina Vocetková and pianist Jan Vojtek, the Trio has debuted on many prominent stages such as Vienna’s Musikverein, London’s Wigmore Hall and Manchester’s Stoller Hall, where it has established its status in the chamber music area.

Their performances at renowned festivals such as Spring in Prague, Czech Republic, Schwarzwald Musikfestival in Freudenstadt, Germany and Festival van Vlaanderen in Ghent, Belgium have received international acclaim, and shortly after its foundation, until 2022, Trio Bohémo was a member of the European Academy of Chamber Music, studying with esteemed mentors such as Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, Patrick Jüdt and Avedis Kouyoumdjian.

The ensemble has been awarded prizes in numerous competitions which have consolidated their place among the most appreciated chamber ensembles. They participated in the Gianni Bergamo Prize in Lugano, Switzerland, where they were awarded second prize. Following this success, the trio was accepted into the Le Dimore del Quartetto network, which awarded them the prize for Ensemble of the Year 2021. In the summer of the same year, they were honored at the ISA Festival in Austria for their best performances of Viennese classical music and works by Bohuslav Martinů. To their rich list of distinctions, they also add the first prize and the audience prize at the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria and the grand prize at the International Parkhouse Award in London.

Since that successful year, Trio Bohémo has continued to accumulate awards and accolades. Their international impact extended to Australia, where they won third prize and the audience prize at the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. At the ARD International Music Competition, Trio Bohémo received three special prizes. The pinnacle of their achievements came with recognition from the Czech Chamber Music Society.

Thanks to the generous support of Dr. Jan Telenský, Matouš Pěruška owns an impeccable copy of the Antonio Stradivari Willemotte violin by Florian Leonhard and a unique violin by Matteo Goffriller. Kristina Vocetková also plays a cello by Fausto Maria Bertucci.
