Ulrich Koella
Swiss pianist Ulrich Koella is one of the foremost chamber musicians and accompanists of his generation; he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Janos Balint, Olaf Bar, Ian Bostridge, Eduard Brunner, Thomas Friedli, Martin Frost, Wenzel Fuchs, James Galway, Peter-Lukas Graf, Wolfgang Holzmair, Sharon Kam, Rudolf Koelman, Celine Moinet, Nils Monkemeyer, Regula Muhlemann, Laszlo Polgar, Christoph Pregardien, Julian Pregardien, Andreas Schmidt, Bo Skovhus, Raphael Wallfisch, Simone Zgraggen and ensembles such as the Quartetto Nous, the Orpheus Quartet, the Stradivari Quartet and the Winterthurer Streichquartett.
His concert activities have led him to most European countries, the Middle East, Japan, South Korea, China, Canada, Argentina and the USA.
For many years Ulrich Koella was accompanist of choice for a number of prominent national and international music competitions. He is often called upon by most of the Symphony and Chamber Orchestras in Switzerland to be orchestral pianist and audition accompanist.
His partnerships have resulted in numerous CD’s for Glaves, Tudor, Centaur, Prospero Classical, Ars Musici and China Record Corporation.
For 36 years, Ulrich Koella was Professor for Piano Chamber Music and Collaborative Piano at the Zurich University of the Arts. He gives masterclasses in Switzerland, Germany, Great Britain, Norway, Israel, China, South Korea and the USA.
