Bogdan Onofrei finished his bachelor’s and master’s studies at the National University of Arts “George Enescu” in Iași, with Prof. univ. dr. Elena Ovănescu Pîrvu. In the following years, his passion for programmatic music led him to carry out a doctoral research on this topic, under the guidance of Prof. univ. dr.Laura Otilia Vasiliu.

During his university studies he was very active, especially in the field of chamber music (recitals, concerts, masterclasses and workshops). She is one of the founding members of the Chamber Orchestra “Sonos Alumni” of UNAGE, with a gradual evolution – member, conductor, and currently coordinator with Lect. univ. dr. Tudor Bogdan Bolnavu.

After completing his doctoral studies he published the volume “Music in images and colors. Violin literature from the first half of the 20th century” and constantly combines his teaching and performing career. His public appearances are diversified, but are mainly in the field of chamber music, in various ensembles, and he captures the public’s attention through his good instrumental level, particular sensitivity, and creative adaptation of technical means to style and content.

He is currently a teacher at the National College of Arts “Octav Băncilă” in Iasi, and from 2024 he becomes an assistant professor at the National University of Arts “George Enescu” in the department of chamber music and violin.
