Tenor Gabriel Bîrjovanu graduated from the National University of Arts “George Enescu” Iasi, specializing in vocal interpretation. He began his career at the Romanian National Opera Iasi, where he performed a series of leading and secondary roles in operas and operettas. He has been invited by private companies as soloist for the roles of Alfredo in La Traviata, Don Jose in Carmen and Rodolfo in La Bohème. He was also one of the protagonists of the show The 12 Tenors in Germany. In December, 2023, he made his debut as Gabriel von Eisenstein in the operetta The Lily by Johann Strauss Jr. on the ONRI stage. His talent has also taken him to the stage of the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo, where he has sung in over 1000 opera performances and symphonic concerts under renowned conductors such as Sir Antonio Pappano, Zubin Mehta and Riccardo Muti. Since 2023, he is a PhD student at UNAGE and works as a freelancer, continuing to enrich his repertoire, giving numerous concerts and recitals every month.
