Peter Kirstein is the recipient of, among other things, „Jacob Gade’s Music Award”, “Anne-Marie Mortensen’s Legacy”, “Lyngby-Taarbaek Municipality’s Music Award” and “IK Gottfried’s Jubilee Award”.

In addition to his work as a chamber musician, he also has extensive orchestral experience. He has played with all the major orchestras in Denmark such as DR Symphony Orchestra, Det Kongelige Kapel, Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Odense Symphony Orchestra, as well as orchestras in Germany, England and Sweden.

Since September 2004, Peter Kirstein has been oboist in Ensemble MidtVest. In addition, he is an active baroque oboist and chamber musician in many other contexts.
