Solveig Sørbø

Solveig Sørbø is an autodidact composer, music producer, and performer who works with classical and popular music, spanning orchestral and chamber music, film scores, musical drama, fusion and pop. Sørbø has worked with violin virtuoso Catharina Chen and pianist / improviser Ayumi Tanaka, and also enjoys improvising and collaborating with musicians of traditional instruments. 

While being strongly committed to melody and harmony she also explores sound art and visuals. Recently a profiled hostess in the classical music channel NRK Klassisk and journalist in P2 at The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), and innovator of the radically interdisciplinary project MusicLab at UiO, she is now fully focussed on her musical creations currently involved in several projects as a composer, most notably creating the opera “Heroin Chic” together with distinguished author-turned-librettist Maria Kjos Fonn, premiering worldwide at Classix Festival 2025.
