Classix Collective
Concert:
Classix Collective is a chamber ensemble formed by some of the most highly regarded instrumental artists from Iași, united by the desire to redefine the classical concert experience and to actively support the artistic mission of the Classix project.
Founded during the fifth edition of Classix Festival, the ensemble embodies the core values embraced from the very beginning: interdisciplinary collaboration, mutual respect, artistic excellence and international cultural dialogue. In this context, Classix Collective has become a central artistic nucleus of the festival and a meeting point between the local and international artistic scenes.
With extensive academic and stage experience, the members of the ensemble are active both as soloists and as collaborators with nationally significant symphonic institutions. Their versatility enables them to explore repertoire beyond the conventional canon, each programme being shaped in accordance with the curatorial concept of each edition.
Within Classix Festival 2024, Classix Collective appeared in productions such as I Wish I Were Water and Classix Desire, collaborating with international artists including Mirsaeed Hosseiny Panah (IR), Bjørk-Guinevere Kinsella Eide (NO), Max Artved (DK), Jean-Baptiste Doulcet (FR) and the members of Bandini & Chiacchiaretta Duo (IT).
In 2025, the ensemble played a central role in the world premiere of the opera in concert Heroin Chic, composed by Solveig Sørbø (NO) to a libretto by Maria Kjos Fonn (NO), conducted by Hans Petter Mæhle (NO).
The ensemble also collaborated with artists including Pietro Roffi (IT), Alessandro Stella (IT), Daniel Lazar (RS/NO), Mladen Miloradovic (RS/DE) and composer Kjell Habbestad (NO) in the closing gala concert Il Dolce Finale, as well as in the educational-stage production Un Compozitor la Carnaval, alongside actor Bob Rădulescu (RO).
Members of Classix Collective were also involved in the Romania–Norway bilateral project The Hills of Change, further strengthening the international and contemporary dimension of the Classix project.
Conceived as a flexible and dynamic chamber ensemble, Classix Collective continues to serve as a bridge between local artists and international guests, contributing to the creation of an artistic space where music becomes a territory of exploration, collaboration and reinvention.
