Eduard Benedic

Eduard Benedic graduated from the Faculty of Performance, Composition and Theoretical Music Studies at the Universitatea Națională de Arte „George Enescu” din Iași, specialising in Classical Singing, in the studio of lect. univ. dr. Lăcrămioara-Maria Hrubaru Roată.

He has received prizes at national and international competitions, including First Prize at the „Elena Botez” National Performance Competition (Piatra Neamț), 2022 edition; Third Prize at the „Eduard Caudella” National Competition (Iași), 2023 edition; the Prize of the Union of Composers of the Republic of Moldova at the „Maria Cebotari” International Opera Performers Competition (Chișinău), 2025 edition; as well as Second Prize (2023 edition) and the Singing Section Trophy (2025 edition) at the „Elite Musicians International Competition” in Iași.

In 2023, he made his debut at the Opera Națională Română din Iași as Malatesta in Don Pasquale by Gaetano Donizetti. In the same year, he gave a series of recitals within the Erasmus+ project in Iași, Brașov, at the Ateneul Român in Bucharest, and abroad in Padua, Rome and Palermo (Italy).

He has toured in Switzerland, Italy, France and Germany and has collaborated with Romanian musical institutions such as Filarmonica „Mihail Jora” din Bacău and Filarmonica „George Enescu” din Botoșani. He is currently a member of the „Lya Hubic” Opera Studio of the Opera Națională Română din Cluj-Napoca.

He has taken part in vocal technique and artistry masterclasses led by soprano Elena Moșuc, bass Orlin Anastassov, maestros Vlad Iftinca and Ugo Mahieux, soprano Olga Makarina and baritone George Petean.
