Kerstin Thiele
Flute | From Sweden
Kerstin Thiele is a Swedish flutist and has been a member of Esbjerg Ensemble since 1986. As part of Denmark’s oldest professional international chamber music ensemble, she plays an active role in shaping its artistic profile and also serves as a board member, appointed by her fellow musicians.
Her artistic career reflects a strong commitment to both classical and contemporary repertoire, marked by expressive depth and refined tonal clarity. She studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with solo flutist Toke Lund Christiansen, and further developed her artistry in Zurich with Professor André Jaunet, one of the leading figures of the European flute tradition.
Alongside her work with Esbjerg Ensemble, Kerstin Thiele is actively engaged in the broader music scene in Denmark and internationally, participating in a wide range of concert projects and collaborations. She is also a faculty member at the Syddansk Academy of Music, where she mentors young flutists and contributes to the next generation of performers.
Through her combined artistic and pedagogical work, Kerstin Thiele continues to play a significant role in both the Danish and international contemporary music landscape.
