Maria Rădeanu

A graduate of the National University of Music in Bucharest, where she studied under Prof. Univ. Dr. Alexandru Badea, Maria began her musical journey with violin studies at the “Octav Băncilă” National College of Arts in Iași, performing as a soloist in the Children’s Choir of the Romanian National Opera in Iași during her adolescence.

After 12 years of violin, she discovered her vocal calling, winning the “Felicia Filip” Trophy at the “Crai Nou” Competition (2018) and continuing her studies at the “George Enescu” National College of Music in Bucharest. A laureate of the National Interpretation Olympics (2019) and competitions such as “Victor Giuleanu”, “Sigismund Toduță” and “Achim Stoia”, Maria has received UNMB Excellence Scholarships (2024–2025), the “Iolanda Mărculescu” Scholarship (2025) and UNIMIR Scholarships (2021–2025).

She made her professional debut at the Bucharest National Opera as Gilda in Rigoletto (April 2025), followed by the stage of the Romanian National Opera in Iași. Her repertoire includes Bastienne (Bastien und Bastienne), Gilda (Rigoletto), Olympia (Les contes d’Hoffmann), Princess Oskar (Un ballo in maschera), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Violetta (La Traviata), Rita, Liesl von Trapp (The Sound of Music) and other roles. She has performed at venues such as the Romanian Atheneum, Bucharest National Opera, Iași Romanian National Opera, Iași Palace of Culture, Elisabeta Theatre, Iași National Theatre “Vasile Alecsandri” and Oradea “Regina Maria” Theatre, collaborating with conductors including Tiberiu Soare, Ethan Schmeisser, David Crescenzi, Daniel Jinga and Olivier Robe.

​Since 2023, she has been a soloist with the “Ludovic Spiess” Experimental Studio of the Bucharest National Opera. She has participated in masterclasses with Viorica Cortez, Marco Guidarini, Victor Dumănescu and Jan Roelof Wolthuis, maintaining special professional relationships with Mioara and Viorica Cortez.
