Valdemar Wenzel Most

Piano | Denmark

Valdemar Wenzel Most is a young Danish pianist in rapid ascent, acclaimed for his musical refinement and an artistic maturity striking for his age. Born into a family of musicians in Nyborg, he began studying the piano at the age of four and later also played the cello, performing with the youth ensemble The Zapolski Strings and singing as a boy soprano soloist in the Copenhagen Royal Chapel Choir.

He currently lives in Berlin, where he is pursuing his bachelor’s studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in the class of renowned pianist Kirill Gerstein, following extensive training in Denmark with Bella Zapolski. Despite his youth, he has already attracted significant attention within the Nordic music scene, being named Léonie Sonning Talent Prize 2025 and DR P2 Talent 2025, as well as receiving the Gladsaxe Music Prize and Second Prize together with the Carl Nielsen Prize at the Aarhus International Piano Competition.

His concert career is developing rapidly, both as a soloist with orchestra and as a recitalist and chamber musician. He has performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 with Copenhagen Phil, collaborated with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra in Rachmaninov’s Third Piano Concerto, and is already appearing at major festivals such as Haydn Festival 2025, where he will perform Haydn’s D major concerto with the Danish National Chamber Orchestra under Adam Fischer, and Festival & Friends, presenting repertoire ranging from Ginastera and Korngold to Copland and contemporary works.

Supported by prestigious foundations and scholarships such as Léonie Sonning and the Carl Nielsen & Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen Foundation, he continues to refine his artistry through masterclasses and collaborations with leading musicians, shaping an artistic voice defined by curiosity, discipline, and a deeply poetic expressivity.
