Classix Festival, one of the independent cultural initiatives that has stood out at the European level for its interdisciplinary and syncretic collaborations, contemporary presentation approach, and emphasis on innovation and artistic diversity, returns with four new concert titles for the 2025 edition.

Under the theme of *Revelations*, Classix Festival continues to innovate through international and interdisciplinary collaborations, the integration of new technologies, new media arts, and the redefinition of the concert experience. Its program is designed to bring classical music closer to the public.

Newly Announced Concerts

In addition to previously announced concert titles such as “Rêverie d’Amour” and “The Rest is Silence”, the contemporary classical journey offers a diverse artistic agenda, featuring world premieres.

Commissioned by Classix, “Heroin Chic” – an opera in concert will have its world premiere during the Revelations edition. This work, set to explore and redefine the boundaries of human emotion, will be performed on February 25 at 7:00 PM at the Casa de Cultură a Studenților.

Inspired by the novel of Norwegian writer Maria Kjos Fonn, the opera composed by Solveig Sørbø presents a gripping story of love, loss, and reconciliation, shaped by a contemporary sonic language. Music and life will intertwine in the interpretation by the Classix Collective ensemble under the baton of Norwegian conductor Hans Peter Mæhle. The performance will feature an innovative mix of instruments, including the cimbalom, synthesizer, harp, and vibraphone.

The next concert, “Classic Express”, is scheduled for February 26 at 7:00 PM at the Aula of the Central University Library “Mihai Eminescu”. This event will showcase a program of works by Mozart, Nielsen, Sehested, Sørensen, and Saint-Saëns, celebrating musical excellence with the Danish ensemble Ensemble MidtVest (EMV). Led by top-tier musicians such as violinist Nicolas Dautricourt, EMV aims to create meaningful and accessible experiences for audiences, both in concert halls and beyond.

On February 28 at 7:00 PM, the Henri Coandă Hall of the Palace of Culture in Iași will host Bach in Movement, an event blending music and ballet in an authentically stylistic reinterpretation of J. S. Bach’s works. Austrian violinist Daniel Auner, music historian Dagmar Glüxam, and ballerina Agnes Guk will present a fresh vision, transforming classical music into a fully immersive sensory experience.

On March 1 at 11:00 AM, Cinema Victoria Iași, Sala Unirii, will host A Composer at the Carnival, a performance designed for all curious generations, from children to adults, offering an opportunity to discover the magic of classical music regardless of age.

Under the baton of Dalma Toadere, the Classix Collective ensemble and actor Bob Rădulescu will humorously and educationally invite the audience into the animal kingdom of classical music. The repertoire includes pieces by Camille Saint-Saëns, Hector Berlioz, Jacques Offenbach, and Hortense de Beauharnais.

Volunteers 2025

Volunteer registrations have officially opened and will remain available until January 17, 2025. The application form can be completed online.

The sixth edition of the Classix Festival will take place in Iași from February 23 to March 2. Organized by the Creative Industries Association and Showberry, tickets and subscriptions for the initial concerts are already available for purchase on the festival’s official website.

To encourage youth participation, students and pupils benefit from a 50% discount. Additionally, those paying with a BRD card can enjoy a 15% discount, automatically applied when selecting “BRD” as the payment method on the platform.

Asociația Industrii Creative is the organizer of the Rocanotherworld and Classix festivals in Iași. Its mission is to revitalize the city’s cultural scene, engage creative communities, and promote civic involvement through actions that foster a proactive, contributive, and participatory spirit.

Showberry, a member of AROC (Romanian Association of Concert and Cultural Event Organizers), is a startup recognized through the Invest in People! program.
