Classix Festival, one of the independent cultural initiatives noted at European level, announces the complete concert program of its sixth edition: we will have a contemporary classical adventure dedicated to explorers eager to step out of their comfort zone and enter the world of classical music in a unique and authentic approach.

Organised by Asociația Industrii Creative and Showberry, the festival will take place in Iași between February 23 and March 2, and tickets and concert subscriptions are already available on the festival’s official website.

Recently announced concerts

The program of the sixth edition of Classix Festival consists of 9 concerts organized over the 8 days of its existence, in emblematic locations of Iași such as The Palace of Culture, The “Mihai Eminescu” Central University Library, The “Vasile Alecsandri” National Theater, The Roman Catholic Cathedral of Iași and many others. Relying on interdisciplinary and syncretic collaboration, the contemporary presentation approach, as well as the emphasis on innovation and artistic diversity, the theme of the edition explores revelations.

In Reverentia, the opening concert, which has become a tradition, will take place at the Roman Catholic Cathedral “Holy Virgin Mary, Queen” in Iași, on February 23, starting at 7:30PM. The Arcadia Quartet and cellist Octavian Lup will perform a program consisting of works by Liszt, Beethoven, and Schubert.

The Baroque Royale concert will bring us to the stage the most important Polish baroque music ensemble: Arte dei Suonatori – 30 years after its founding, in the cultural season Romania – Poland 2024-2025, which will bring back to life early music with authentic instruments from the 17th century. On Saturday, March 1, starting at 7:00 PM, in the Unity Hall of the Victoria Cinema we will listen to the court music of the 1600s and 1700s found in the works of composers: Johann Adolf Hasse, Giovanni Alberto Ristori, Georg Philipp Telemann, Franz Benda and Johann Gottlieb Graun.

The gala concert of the edition will take place on March 2, starting at 7:00 PM, in the Great Hall of the “Vasile Alecsandri” National Theater in Iași. Il Dolce Finale is dedicated to the traditions and unifying potential of folk-inspired music. We will listen to compositions by Astor Piazzolla, Kjell Habbestad and Daniel Lazăr performed by the festival’s guests: Pietro Roffi (IT) – accordion, Alessandro Stella (IT) – piano, Classix Collective (RO) – string orchestra, Daniel Lazăr (SB / NO) – violin and Mladen Miloradovic (SB / DE) – conductor.

The journey of the closing concert of Classix Festival 2025 will begin in Argentina – where the “new tango” will evolve in different poses, inspired by authentic human experiences. It will continue in Scandinavia, where the dance will be exposed to musical rhythms inspired by the wild nature of the Arctic. Finally, the instrumental virtuosity will bring the audience home, in an explosion of Balkan energy worthy of a finale to a new contemporary classical adventure.

Subscriptions and concert tickets are available for purchase on the festival’s official website. To encourage young people to participate, students and pupils benefit from a 50% discount. Also, those who pay with a BRD card can benefit from a 15% discount, which is automatically applied when selecting “BRD” as a payment method on the platform.
