Voces del Amor will bring to the forefront the ways in which love shapes perception and inner experience. The concert will explore not only artistic expression, but also the transformation that a musical gesture can trigger in the listener’s mind.
The encounter between the Spanish ensemble Bayona and the voice of cantaora Mariola Membrives will open a space where Iberian tradition and flamenco elements intertwine with chamber writing, mutually amplifying one another. Works by Dvořák, Francisco Coll, and Manuel de Falla will outline an affective journey unfolding step by step, each score offering a new perspective on the theme of love.
It will be an evening in which mind and emotion enter into continuous dialogue, and art reveals its power to transform what we feel through the voice of love.
Antonin Dvořák (1841–1904): Piano Quintet in A major, op. 81 (1887)
Francisco Coll (b. 1985): Cantos for string quartet (2017)
