In the closing concert of the Classix Festival, we turned our attention to two masterpieces that define the complexity of chamber music. The Transfigured Night by Schönberg gives way to the Second Viennese School, being strongly linked to the poem with the same title by Richard Dehmel. It was presented at the concert in a unique way, again emphasizing interdisciplinarity. In the second part, an octet consisting of the two quartets invited to the festival, based in Trondheim and Vienna, gave a new rendition to the String Octet by Felix Mendelssohn. Work with a high level of difficulty, which represents a masterpiece at the border between romance and rebellion. "Classix Transfigured" has several connotations related to the innovative aspects - from the program to the international line-up of artists, to the location - an imposing hall, ready to host a gala concert accompanied by visual art, in a place loaded with Romanian theater & opera history.
