
Constantin Barcov
Classix in Art: Masterclass bassoon
Constantin Barcov, Romania/Sweden, was born in 1984 in Iași is currently the principal bassoonist of the Malmö Opera, a position he previously had in the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra.
He has also performed as a guest soloist with notable orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra London, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester, Hamburg, the Frankfurt Opera, the Deutsche Oper – Berlin and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
Constantin has won numerous national and international competitions, such as the Fernand Gillet-Hugo Fox Competition and has performed in major venues around the world.
Furthermore, he frequently gives masterclasses in Europe and the United States.
Constantin has studied with Dag Jensen, Ronald Wirt and Petrescu Valentin and has participated in numerous festivals such as the Pacific Music Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the Sarasota Music Festival.
Constantin’s playing has been called “…exemplary” by the prestigious newspaper Die Welt.
