
Daniel Auner
The violinist Daniel Auner is winner of the KlassikPreis Österreich and Eugéne Ysaÿe competition.
He studied with Christian Altenburger, Igor Ozim and Boris Kuschnir, and then he additionally studied three years with musicologist Dagmar Glüxam focusing on theory of affects in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Auner performed with orchestras such as Bergische Symphoniker, Russian Philharmony, Philharmonique de Strasbourg, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, Orquestra Sinfónica Brasileira, etc.
These soloistic collaborations led him to some of the biggest stages worldwide such as Wiener Konzerthaus, Wiener Musikverein, Suntory Hall, Tokyo Opera City Hall, Philharmonie St. Petersburg, Palais des Beaux Arts Brussels, amongst others.
He founded the Auner Quartet in 2015, and since 2018 Daniel teaches violin at the renowned Prayner Conservatory in Vienna.
In 2020 he became the artistic director of the Mödling Symphonic Orchestra.
His 12 CD recordings have been released on the labels Gramola Vienna, Capriccio, Coviello and Preiser Records.
Daniel Auner plays on one of the most beautiful instruments by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini, belonging to the Austrian National Bank, and is generously supported by Thomastik Infeld.
