Jonas Lyskjær Frølund
Classix in Art: Masterclass clarinets
Jonas Lyskjær Frølund is the first clarinetist of the Danish Chamber Orchestra, and co-principal clarinetist of the Malmo Symphony Orchestra, while also being in the trial period as solo clarinetist of the Royal Opera House in London. After successfully obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he studied in the class of Professor Pascal Moragues (first clarinetist of the Paris Philharmonic), Jonas continued his Master’s studies in the class of Professor Philippe Berrod.
Passionate about chamber music, Jonas collaborated with important ensembles from Denmark: Trio con Brio Copenhagen and Quatuor Diotima, with which he performed both classical repertoire and contemporary music.
With his solo activity, Jonas has won prizes in competitions in France and Italy, and the most recent result is the 1st prize at the fifth edition of the International Clarinet Competition in Lisbon, 2019.
Jonas is active in promoting contemporary music and collaborates with top Danish composers: Birgitte Alsted, Poul Ruders and Rune Glerup.
