Virgil Florin Prisacariu

Virgil Prisacariu successfully combines a rich artistic, academic and scientific activity. He began his musical studies in Galați, under the guidance of Professor Costică Delicote, and then completed his studies at the George Enescu National University of Arts of Iași, at the class of Dumitru Bejan and later under the tutelage of Professor Dan Prelipcean, a personality whom also guided his research during doctoral studies.

He performed as a soloist with important orchestras in Romania, in cities such as Iași, Bacău, Sibiu, but also in Chișinău, in symphonic, chamber or even jazz concerts, being considered a promoter of the virtuosity of the double bass by performing and researching the repertoire of composer Giovanni Bottesini.

Currently, Virgil Florin Prisacariu is a double bass performer in the Moldova State Philharmonic of Iași, at the same time laying the foundation of a new era of the Iași double bass class, from the position of university lecturer. PhD at the George Enescu National University of Arts.
