Revelation grasps Classix Festival 2025

The concept of the edition, the first concerts announced and the Classix in Art grants

Iași, November 12th 2024 – The sixth edition of Classix Festival takes place in Iași between February 23 and March 2, 2025. The Creative Industries Association and Showberry, the organizers of the festival, have already put subscriptions and tickets on sale for the first concerts of this event.

Classix Festival 2025 Concept

In 2025, Classix returns with a new concept: Revelations! This art direction outlines moments of profound clarity, unexpected inspirations, and mind-blowing discoveries. Classical music, in all its forms, has the ability to reveal truths about ourselves, the world, and the universal connection that unites us.

After previous editions focused on the discovery of desires (2024), metamorphoses (2023) and the primal instinct of music (2022), Revelation aims to attract a new and diverse audience, encouraging an experience of collective discovery through music.

Together, we will experience multiple revelations, the most important of which is that music is for everyone. We no longer have to fear the sometimes intimidating atmosphere of symphony concerts or the idea that classical music is reserved only for connoisseurs. Classical music also reflects fundamental values such as discipline, collaboration, excellence and universal knowledge. The revelation of this edition will also emphasize the spontaneity of classical music, emphasizing the interaction with the audience and the musical creations that can arise in the framework of joint improvisations”, mentions Dragoș Andrei Cantea, co-founder and Artistic Director of Classix Festival.

First concerts of Classix Festival 2025 announced

The first two concerts in the program of the 2025 edition have been announced and tickets have gone on sale online on the festival website, classixfestival.ro

The concert „Rêverie d’Amour” will take place on Monday, February 24, from 19:00, at the House of Culture of the Students in Iași. In this romantic evening, the violinist Clémence de Forceville (France) and the cellist Benedict Kloeckner (Germany) will take us through a musical journey inspired by Romanian traditions, with the mediation of a pianist who will add a special touch to the whole atmosphere. The concert will celebrate love, the most universal emotion, exploring its most fascinating nuances: from tenderness to boldness and timelessness.

The concert „The Rest is Silence” will take place on February 27, 2024, from 19:00, at the Palace of Culture in Iași, bringing to the fore silence, introspection and improvisation with the audience. In a 20th century marked by chaos and freedom, the concert combines tradition with the avant-garde, exploring deep themes such as loneliness and creative tension. Inspired by Bach’s Musical Offering, the event will generate a deep dialogue between past and present, between canonical structure and expressive freedom. After exploring these themes, artists and audiences will have the opportunity to collaborate and create together, giving free rein to their imaginations in an interactive and cross-cultural Classix.

Tickets are available for purchase online on the festival website, and to support youth participation, students and pupils benefit from a 50% discount. Also, those who purchase tickets or subscriptions for Classix Festival 2025 can benefit from a 15% discount when paying with a BRD card, automatically applicable when selecting the “BRD” option on the sales platform.

Classical music lovers who want to keep up to date with the festival’s news and information on the sale of tickets and subscriptions can subscribe to the dedicated newsletter on the festival’s website.

Classix in Art 2025 grants

With excitement, the organizers announce the resumption of the Classix in Art program in the sixth edition of the festival, supported by the new main partner, BRD Groupe Société Générale, which invests in the new generation of creators, in art and music, supporting hundreds of events and programs every year. It is the only bank that has a cultural foundation – Fundația9, its own cultural center – Rezidența9 and the cultural magazine Scena9, one of the most relevant journalism publications in Romania today.

We recognize that at BRD we love everything related to culture. We are fascinated by its unique ability to open our mind, soul, imagination. Regardless of whether it is street art or classical music, the White Night of the Galleries or the George Enescu International Festival, Balkanik Festival, Jazz In the Park, Sibiu International Theater Festival, exhibitions dedicated to Hip Hop culture, or Romanian contemporary dance proposed by our Cultural Center Rezidența9 , culture prompts us to explore bubbles different from our own. It helps us understand ourselves and others better. It is the laboratory where we create alternative, possible, future worlds. In short, because, whether profound or playful, as we like to say, culture opens us up!

All the more, we enthusiastically join the initiative of the Classix Festival to give scholarships to young artists. The new generation of artists can change our world! We encourage young people to participate in the Classix in Art Scholarships, to propose their projects, dreams, ideas, hopes, because we are convinced that some of them will make history. Good luck to everyone!” said Flavia Popa, General Secretary of BRD Groupe Société Générale.

In this context, the Classix in Art grants returns with new opportunities, and applications have started online. The call for projects is addressed to emerging and independent artists, aged between 18 and 35, resident in Romania, regardless of citizenship. Scholarship applications can be submitted online until November 30, 2024. Three scholarships, each worth €1000, will be awarded in the fields of: visual arts, music and performing arts.

These grants are intended to stimulate innovation and creativity in contemporary art, contributing to the professional development of emerging artists. The theme of this call is “revelation“. We want to encourage artists to explore those moments of personal (re)discovery that have inspired them and bring to light new perspectives and innovative ideas. Every independent artist or student has experienced at least one significant revelation in recent years – whether it was a moment of clarity, a profound discovery, or an unexpected inspiration. These experiences are essential, and they can become an invaluable source of inspiration for their future creations.

The purpose of this scholarship is to give artists the opportunity to capitalize on these moments of revelation, turning them into works of art that reflect the uniqueness of their perspective. We want each of these creators to be able to share the results of their revelations with a world that needs new visions and the unique creative force of each of them.
