Alexander Rubel is a German-Romanian historian and archaeologist, born on December 27, 1969. He currently holds the position of director of the German Cultural Center in Iași.
Rubel studied history, German studies, and philosophy at the University of Konstanz in Germany. After working as a researcher at the Department of Ancient History at this university, he moved to Iași, Romania, in 2000.
