Ioan Milică

Ioan Milică is a professor within the Department of Romanian Studies, Journalism and Communication Sciences, and Comparative Literature – Faculty of Letters, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași. His main fields of academic interest are general linguistics, rhetoric and stylistics, and paremiology. He holds a PhD in linguistics with a doctoral thesis on youth slang, supervised by Professor Dumitru Irimia. He has undertaken research fellowships at universities in Norway, Belgium and Germany.
He has published over one hundred scholarly works, including single-author volumes, critical editions, chapters in collective volumes, articles, conference papers, translations, reviews and introductory studies, among which The Expressivity of Slang (2007), Discursive Worlds (2013), Notions of Stylistics (2014), and The Factory of Phrases. Eminescu in the World of the Press (2023). Since 2018, he has served as General Director of the “Mihai Eminescu” Central University Library of Iași.
