Liviu Jicman

Liviu Sebastian Jicman graduated in 2004 from the Faculty of Economic Studies in Foreign Languages – German Section – at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (ASE). He later graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Bucharest.

For the past 12 years, he has worked exclusively in the cultural field. Prior to his current position at the Romanian Cultural Institute, he served as general director of the National Cotroceni Museum for 5 years and vice-president of the ICR for 3 years. He worked professionally at the Ministry of Culture (respectively, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage) as the minister’s chief of staff, then as advisor. As a representative of the Ministry of Culture or ICR, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Cultural Fund Administration (AFCN), a consultative body on the evaluation, selection, and financing of cultural projects. Until 2012, he worked at the “Masca” Theater in Bucharest.

In central public administration, he also worked, among others, at the cabinet of the Minister of Health, being certified as a hospital manager following the completion of the specialized course organized by the National School of Public Health and Hospital Management (2006), and as an evaluator by the National Hospital Accreditation Commission (2010).

He was a scholarship holder of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in the sur-place program, participant in the “ACYPL – American Council for Young Political Leaders” program, organized by the U.S. Department of State, in partnership with the Foundation for Pluralism (February 2006, USA), and coordinator of the Alexandru Paleologu conference program, organized in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.

In 2013, in the publication “Economic Crisis or Crisis Economy” (Universitară Publishing House), he published the article “Creative Industries and Their Position on the Economic Market During the Crisis Period”.
