Mihai Bulai is a Senior Lecturer (PhD) at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Geology. He is a licensed tour guide specialising in Iași and the wider Moldavia region, a member of the Iași.Travel Association, and an entrepreneur, co-founder of the Iași-based cultural café Negru Zi.

He implemented the project Iași – Seven Thematic Tourist Routes (2017) and coordinated the Tourism Strategy of the Municipality of Iași and the Iași Metropolitan Area (2018). Between 2019 and 2023, he served as President of the Destination Iași Association, contributing to the city branding process entitled “Iași, The City of Creators” and to the promotion of Iași’s major cultural events.

He is actively involved in community initiatives focused on urban planning, territorial development, independent culture, ecological transition and sustainable tourism. At the same time, he supports policies dedicated to contemporary culture, urban identity and the strategic promotion of Iași as a cultural and tourism destination.
