Oltița Cîntec is a theatre critic, PhD in Theatre Studies, and Professor (habil.) at the Faculty of Theatre of the “George Enescu” National University of Arts in Iași. She is also an associate professor at the Doctoral School of the Faculty of Theatre and Film at “Babeș-Bolyai” University in Cluj-Napoca, curator of the International Theatre Festival for Young Audiences (FITPT), and manager of the Luceafărul Theatre in Iași.

Her articles and studies have been published in academic, theatre and cultural journals in Romania and abroad. She has served on professional juries and delivered lectures on Romanian theatre both in Romania and internationally. She is the author of several books on theory and the recent history of the performing arts, many of which have received awards. In 2024, she was honoured by UNITER with the “George Banu” Award for theatre criticism and history.
