Ștefan Diaconu

Ștefan Diaconu is a flautist, conductor, music editor, and educator active in Romania and across the Nordic region. A graduate of the Master’s Programme in Orchestral Studies (Flute) at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and a double Bachelor’s graduate of the National University of Music Bucharest (Flute Performance and Orchestral Conducting), he earned his PhD in Music at the National University of Music Bucharest.
His artistic profile combines performance, editorial work, and cultural management. He prepared a new edition of George Enescu’s Symphonies and edited for the first time the complete works for wind instruments by Dinu Lipatti. As a founding member of the V Coloris Wind Quintet, he recorded two albums dedicated to the wind repertoire of Dinu Lipatti and Sigismund Toduță, actively contributing to the international promotion of Romanian music.
He collaborates regularly with ensembles and orchestras in Romania and Scandinavia, engaging in chamber and symphonic projects, solo appearances, and educational initiatives.
He coordinates cultural projects and leads the publishing house Music Coloris, dedicated to the editing and dissemination of Romanian musical heritage.
